Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the North Texas Field of Honor® and helping us Honor our Heroes! Volunteers are needed to assist with the activities listed below. Please sign up and select the activities in which you are interested. The Volunteer Committee Lead will contact you with additional information and provide sign-up sheets in advance so you can select the times that best fit your schedule and the tasks that best fit your interest.
Flag Assembly – Pre-Event – October 24, 2:00 p.m.
Assist with assembling the flags. This includes attaching the flag to the flagpole and placing a decorative top on the flagpole.
Field Setup – November 5, 1:00 p.m.
Assist with setting up the field (this includes functions such as outlining the field, driving rebar stakes into the ground, walking assembled flagpoles from delivery vehicles and placing the flagpoles on the rebar stake, and attaching the honoree’s name card to the flagpole).
Docents – November 6, 2:00 p.m.
Assist visitors and honorees with locating their flags, distribute programs and conduct on-site flag sales.
Field Take-down – November 14, 1:00 p.m.
Assist with taking down flagpoles, extracting the rebar stakes from the field, removing flags from flagpoles, carrying rebar stakes and flagpoles to transporting vehicles, and assisting honorees/purchasers with picking up their flags.
